Window Safety Decal Strips to meet Building Codes
In building design, a glass building code strip refers to a mandatory safety feature, often a solid, contrasting band, installed on glass doors and surrounding glazing to prevent accidental collisions. These strips are required by Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia to enhance visibility and reduce the risk of injury.

Key Requirements for Glass Building Code Strips:
· Minimum Height: The strip must be a minimum
· of 75mm high.
· Location: The lower edge of the strip should be positioned between 900mm and 1000mm from the finished floor level.
· Contrast: The strip must have a minimum 30% luminance contrast when viewed against the floor or nearby surfaces within 2 meters on the opposite side of the glass.
· Solid and Opaque: The strip should be a continuous, solid, and non-transparent band.
· Full Width: The strip must span the entire width of the glass panel, not stop short of the edges.
· Durability: The strip should be durable and not easily damaged or removed.

Purpose:
· To clearly delineate the presence of glass doors and windows, making them more visible to people, especially those with impaired vision or in busy environments.
· To prevent accidental collisions with glass panels, reducing the risk of injury.
To comply with safety regulations outlined in standards like AS 1428.1 and the BCA.
Additional Information:
- These strips can be made of various materials, including vinyl or frosted film, and can be customized with corporate branding or logos, provided they do not compromise the visibility or contrast requirements.
- The specific requirements may vary depending on the type of glazing and the building's location, so it's essential to consult the relevant standards and codes for detailed information.
